Current District 1 Dakota County Commissioner, Mike Slavik, will be seeking re-election. Slavik is familiar with how governent works from his time being on the City Council. During his time as County Commissioner, Slavik has focused on ways to better social services. He is also proud of the fact that Dakota County is now on track to become a debt-free county, and would like to see that through. When asked why he decided to run again, Slavik had this to say.
