The Hastings Police Department would like to invite the community to their first open house, which will be held on Tuesday, May 12th from 4:00 to 7:00pm. The event will take place during National Police Week, initially started by a proclamation from President Kennedy in 1962 and designated to create awareness of the sacrifice and commitment made by law enforcement throughout the nation. Hastings police officer Wayne Hicks, tells KDWA more about the event.
