City Council Recap

The Hastings City Council has unanimously approved a resolution for a variance to the maximum number of accessory structures at 519 E. 17th St. The variance was recommended for approval by the Hastings Planning Commission at its meeting in June. Hastings Community Development Director John Hinzman briefed the council on the particulars of the variance.

The Hastings City Council also approved several licenses and permits at its regular meeting on Monday, July 6th, including the renewal of a license for the Old Mill Pawn Shop, a massage license for Heather Lee Duhaime of Caring Hands Massage and Spa, an outdoor music tent and amended liquor license for DuGarel’s during Rivertown Days, a temporary one-day gambling permit for the Onion Grille for an event to benefit the Gillette Children’s Hospital on September 24th and a permit to John Overmeyer for the operation of a 4-wheel all-terrain vehicle on city streets as a conveyance for a disabled person.
