Fatal Crash on Highway 52

An incident involving an airborne truck topper turned deadly as 46 year old John E. Ostrom, of Fountain, Minnesota, was traveling behind a vehicle driven by 18 year old Aaron C. Ahlberg of Inver Grove Heights, when Ostrom saw the topper on the vehicle in front of him fly off and into his southbound lane on Hwy 52 in Dakota county. Ostrom was unable to avoid the topper and it hit his pickup. Ostrom then exited his vehicle to examine the damage and was standing near his truck in the grassy ditch separating the lanes of Hwy 52.
