Warrant Sweep Honoring Scott Patrick

The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office will lead a warrant sweep in honor of Officer Scott Patrick, in conjunction with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies on Thursday, July 30th. A warrant sweep is a specific day chosen by law enforcement agencies to coordinate efforts toward locating those with pending arrest warrants. Warrant sweeps result in varying amounts of arrests, but all sweeps remind those with outstanding warrants that they will be held accountable. Officer Patrick, a 47-year-old father of two and 19-year veteran of the Mendota Heights Police Department, was shot to death in West St. Paul while conducting a traffic stop on July 30, 2014. Dakota County Sheriff Tim Leslie said, “There is no better way to honor a fellow officer than to do the work Officer Patrick dedicated his life to.”
