HPD Responds to String of Thefts

The Hastings Police responded to over a dozen incidents of theft and vandalism that occurred between 2:00am and 4:00am early Tuesday morning. The area most affected was between Hwy 55 and Hwy 46/47, and Hwy 61 and General Sieben Drive. There were reports of mailboxes gone through and mail scattered, cars ransacked, and at least 3 stolen cars. Just before 4:00am, one of the patrol officers spotted a group of suspicious vehicles in the area of Hwy 55 and Ashland Street. Upon further investigation, 2 stolen vehicles were recovered and a 15-year-old male juvenile from Roseville was arrested. These cases remain under investigation. The HPD asks residents to be extra vigilant at night and to call 911 if they see or hear something suspicious. Most importantly, lock and remove valuables from your cars. If you have any information regarding who may be involved in these or similar incidents, the public can leave an anonymous tip with the Hastings Police Department at 651-480-2300 or by texting the word Hastings and the information you wish to share to 847411 (tip411).
