Kline Declines Another Term

Representative John Kline has announced he will not seek re-election to the US congress. Since 2003, Kline has served Minnesota’s 2nd congressional district, which spans the width of the entire southern metro area and contains all of Scott and Dakota Counties as well as the southeastern Minnesota counties of Goodhue and Wabasha, the northern half of Rice County including the city of Northfield and the city of Cottage Grove in South Washington County. Kline, a Republican, has 16 months remaining in his current term. He did not give a reason for his decision not to seek re-election in November of 2016.
