City Council Looking at Amending Code

At their meeting on October 5th, the Hastings City Council considered a 1st reading and ordered a public hearing to amend Hastings City Code pertaining to 1st floor residential use in the in the Downtown Core Zoning District. The amnedment would allow first floor residential dwelling units fronting 2nd St. between Spring St. and Vermillion St. uppon approval of a Special Use Permit. The amendment is necessary to accommodate first floor residential uses within the proposed Great Rivers Landing redevelopment of the Hudson Manufacturing Building. A public hearing and 2nd reading of the ordinance amendment has been scheduled for the October 19 City Council meeting.
