Girl Saved from Sex Trafficking, Man Now in Jail

A Maple Grove man is being held in Washington County Jail on two counts of engaging a minor for prostitution. 43-year-old Corwin Thomas Moose was arrested after arranging a second meeting with a 16-year-old from Cottage Grove who had placed an online ad offering to exchange sex for money. Moose had met with the teenager on one previous occasion at the victim’s home, where he paid $80 for sex and nude pictures. The Minneapolis Crimes Against Children unit reached out to the minor after being alerted to the ad. The 16-year-old, who said she was desparate for money, agreed to let an investigator pose as the victim. The investigator then arranged to meet with Moose at a gas station in Cottage Grove, go with him to his house and have sex for $100. After arresting Moose at the gas station, police searched his car and found a new tarp lining the trunk, rubber glove and a large empty suitcase. Moose also did not have $100 on him. Investigators are searching eight computers found at Moose’s house for evidence. Washington County Attorney Pete Orput said minors involved in sex trafficking are treated as victims and the 16-year-old is now safe.
