Home Invasion Shocks Cottage Grove

Friday morning before 10 AM, Cottage Grove Police were called to a home on Hemingway with a report of a home invasion. A female resident reported that responding to a knock on her door resulted in three men who forced their way inside the home, where the woman was bound and blindfolded. The men then ransacked the house before fleeing several minutes later. After they left, the woman was able to get out of the house where she was found by a postal worker on their route. Cottage Grove Police report that the woman did not give a description of the men who at the time of this report, are still at large. They also reported that the men seemed to be looking for something specific and they have no reason to believe there is a threat to the general public. Agencies involved in the continuing investigation include the Woodbury Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. If anyone in the area saw suspicious activity in the area Friday morning, they are asked to contact 911. You may remain anonymous.
