Kuehni Released Awaiting Trial 2

A second trial will take place for Rose Marie Kuehni, this time the Prescott woman accused of killing Douglas Bailey, will wait for the start of the trial outside of a jail cell. Kuehni was taken into custody in December following a grand jury inditement that kept her behind bars for 245 days. On Wednesday Judge Duvall released her after a 20,000 dollars surity bond was signed and guaranteed by Kuehni’s parents. Kuehni will be required to remain at her parents’ home in Pepin, until the trial reconvenes although the judge will not require her to wear an electronic monitoring device. Defense attorney Mark Gherty will seek a new jury, one likely assembled from persons outside of the county as the prosecuter will now pursue 2nd degree homicide in their revised case. Visits with Kuehni’s son, who is 11, will be controlled by child protection services. One stipulation is that Kuehni has no contact with Clarence Hicks, who faces charges of hiding a corpse.
