YMCA Finishes The Job

Derrick Jaeger, Executive Director for the Hastings YMCA has provided an outline for their Finish the Job promotion, that seeks to raise the remaining 79,000 in pledges to attain their goal of 1.43 million dollars. Their addition to the current building has the gymnasium and studios nearing completion and work continues to have it ready in time for a special re-grand opening event to take place on September 26th. Jaeger says that is a current goal, but the event date is subject to change depending on the construction progress. The next phase will see an overhaul of the current locker rooms and a 3rd studio to be completed by mid-December. Their promotion seeks to raise the remaining funds in September with several drawings held with a card drawn each week for prizes ranging from a night out to a local restaurant and movie, Tickets to the Ryder Cup and golf package at Dakota Pines, an overnight visit to Treasure Island with a boat cruise package and a VIP package for the Shout House Rock N Roll Dueling Pianos show. Each card will remain in the drawing until the final week. They will also auction off 6 spots to have a chance to be the first to make a basket in the new gym. The highest 6 bidders will gather at 8 PM on Monday, September 26 where each will be stationed at one of the new baskets to take their shot to be part of history. Jaeger and staff at the YMCA can answer any questions about the Finish the Job promotion by contacting them at 651-480-8887.
