Recycling Changes Coming To Dakota County

Dakota County is revising its Solid Waste Master Plan. The revised plan will guide proper waste management for 2017-2037 and include strategies to divert waste from the landfill and comply with state requirements. This may include aggressive waste diversion strategies that affect businesses in Dakota County, such as mandatory organics diversion from certain businesses. Businesses play an important role in Dakota County solid waste management. Most businesses in Dakota County are eligible for Business Recycling Incentive money to fulfill their recycling resolutions. And for most businesses, recycling is now the law.Dakota County is offering resources to help with funding of up to $10,000 for each business location to start or improve programs to divert recyclable and organics such as food waste and soiled paper from the trash. Funding is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Countys non-regulatory, technical consultant will visit your site to help you find ways to reduce your waste and help you apply for funding.For more information visit our Business Recycling page.
