March For Them Memorial Day

The 2nd annual Memorial Day March 4 them steps off in Bayfront Park in Red Wing today at 0600. Led by organizer and event creator Tom Wright, the group will travel the 28 mile stretch along Hwy 35s Great River Road as they honor fallen soldiers. Those soldiers will be commemorated on road sign markers along the journey, each giving the full measure to their country. The return welcome for the marchers will take place at the Rotary Pavilion in Levee Park in Hastings,beginning at approximately 5 PM. Those wishing to welcome the group are invited to join them for music and a meal as they expand the event this year to include a dinner available for a donation of 5 dollars per person. A Hastings band, Voltage, will play during the evening which is scheduled to conclude at 8 PM.
