The City of Hastings reports in the early stages of candidate filing for City Council elections this fall, that incumbents Joe Balsanek and Trevor Lund have already filed for candidacy in their respective wards. Council member Balsanek will again run to represent Ward 2, and Lund for Ward 4. The Candidate Filing period opened on May 19th, and will remain open until 5 PM on June 2nd. Council Wards 1 through 4 are up for election this year, and the At-Large seats will be contested in 2022.
