Fight Ends In Arrest

The Hastings Police Department reports that a recent altercation in the 100 block of Tyler street resulted in the arrest of one man. According to the Hastings Police blotter, officers were dispatched to a fight in progress. While responding, the reporting party indicated multiple males fled the scene in separate vehicles. Utilizing the description of the vehicles provided, officers located both vehicles and the individuals involved in the altercation. Officers determined one of the males confronted another about driving past a residence. Upon seeing each other again, one of the males got out of his vehicle with a tire iron and charged the vehicle of the other male. The male with the tire iron began trying to pry the door open on the victim’s vehicle. The victim tried pulling the door shut; however, it broke due to the other male pulling on the outside. The male with the tire iron swung it at the victim, striking him on the arm leaving a laceration. The male then got out of the vehicle and both began physically fighting and fled. Officers determined the primary aggressor in the incident was, Devon J. Miller, 20 of Hastings. He was arrested for 2nd degree assault and 3rd degree damage to property.
