Memorial Plaques

With Memorial Day, the 70th anniversary of D-Day, Flag Day and Independence Day occurring over the coming weeks, the Hastings American Legion Post 47 is offering the opportunity for families to purchase a memorial plaque to honor a family service member, to be placed on the legions memorial wall. The wall is located in one of Hastings most picturesque locations, below the Legions patio and facing north, overlooking Levee Park, the Mississippi River Trail Head, the new bridge and the Mississippi River. Families who would like to memorialize a loved one who served in the American Armed Forces, whether an American Legion member or not, can have a large or small plaque inscribed and mounted on the wall in recognition of that loved ones service to God and country. The loved one to be honored does not have to be a resident of Hastings. And the service member can be a veteran of any branch of the Armed Forces for any length of time. Right now there are approximately 100 plaques on the Memorial Wall honoring service members as far back as the Civil War. For more information on the purchase of a large or small plaque contact Bob Metcalf at 651-437-8026.
