Man In Custody after Eagan Police Chase

A man is in custody after leading police on a high-speed chase. Alec Erling Neal is sought on a warrant in Dakota County for Fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle. Neal led Eagan Police on a chase the morning of Thursday the 19th that reached speeds of over 110 MPH on Highways 13 and 77 in Dakota County. He was finally apprehended when police laid “stop strips” across Highway 77. Neals car lost a tire while traveling at 100 MPH and crashed near the Cliff Rd. bridge in Eagan. He was taken to the hospital and was to be released to the custody of the St. Paul Police Department where he is suspected of several felony charges. A warrant is requested by Dakota County because Neal is currently in custody in Ramsey County.
