City of Hastings Cuts Ties with DARTS

The Hastings City Council has approved the termination of a sublease agreement with the non-profit organization DARTS. Effective June 5th, DARTS will no longer lease space in a City building for the purpose of parking vehicles. DARTS is no longer the Transit Link provider in Dakota County. The Metropolitan Council terminated its contracts with DARTS in late 2014 after an audit found the transportation provider allegedly falsified records and failed to keep buses in safe and good working order. DARTS is exercising the termination clause in the agreement with a 90 day notice. The financial impact for the City is a loss of $1800 annual revenue.
