Brown College Closing its Doors

Brown College in Mendota Heights has announced it will be discontinuing operations by 2018. The venerated local broadcasting school formerly known as Brown Institute was started in 1946 by Richard and Helen Brown on Lake St. in Minneapolis. The school moved to Mendota Heights in the 1990s, changing its name to Brown College in 2001 when it opened a satellite campus in Brooklyn Center. Last year Brown merged with the International Academy of Design and Technology to become Sanford Brown College. Sheila Malewska, President of Sanford Brown in Minnesota, talked about the school’s closing.
