An important reminder to all the anglers out there on lakes, rivers and ponds at this start of the fishing season: Be sure to check your most important piece of water gear.. your personal floatation vest. Lack of life jacket use is the number one contributing factor to boating fatalities. Last year in Minnesota, 14 people died in boating accidents, and 13 of those victims were not wearing life jackets. So think of those people waiting for you back on the shore. You have stories to tell of that big one that got away! Stay safe on the water. Life jackets save lives.
