Riverfront Renaissance Project Update

The springtime schedule for the Riverfront Renaissance project is continuing with several projects underway. A major task has been the replacement and removal of service lines to buildings so that utilities will be updated prior to restoration of the concrete and asphalt surfaces between the Sibley to Ramsey alley. Grading and soil addition was done to prepare the area for replacement materials and the foundation work for the entryway arch on Sibley Street has begun. Mason work followed construction of the military columns at the new Veterans Memorial Center. Employees of businesses located in the downtown area are reminded to use alternate parking while this work continues as well as to take care when walking in the area which contains surfaces yet to be completed. Workers are encouraged to use the lot under the bridge, two lots at Tyler and 2nd streets, and a lot near City Hall.
