Hampton Community Days was held over the weekend and they had three beautiful days to celebrate! The medallion hunt was a success and was found early Wednesday morning by a local Hampton family. Mayor Skog stated “The residents are already requesting another one next year with even harder clues.” Friday night kicked off with the ice cream social, and there were a lot of kids making their own tasty sundaes! There was music and dancing by children of all ages, before the movie in the park. It turned out to be a gorgeous night to watch an outdoor movie, and was very well-attended by many area families and their children. Saturday started out a little rainy and the Fitness Walk had to be cancelled, but all other events that day went off without a hitch. There were kids playing and laughing all day, jumping in the bouncy houses, getting their face painted and hair colored. Good food was also served by a Taste of Cambodia, their roasted corn, and sticky chicken were delicious and a huge hit! The Hampton Cardinals baseball team also beat the Miesville Mudhens 6-2 to round out the perfect afternoon of fun. Saturday evening after sunset, the air was perfect for the Street Dance at Frank’s Place. The band “ARENA” played under the stars and put on an amazing rock concert for all those in attendance. “ARENA is already booked for next year, they are that good!” Mayor Skog said. Sunday was Father’s Day and another great day for Hampton Cardinal baseball. The Cardinals got upended by the Northfield Knights 11-3 to end the activities this year.
