The winners of Cottage Grove’s annual Green Garden award were announced at the Aug. 12th City Council meeting. Lou Bourasa won in the residential category, and St. Luke Lutheran Church in the commercial category. Each will receive a large stone engraved with the City’s logo and the year to add to their winning gardens. Since 2007, the award has been presented annually to a residential and commercial garden nominated by residents. All entries are judged on specific criteria including overall appearance, plant variety and arrangement, uniqueness, creativity, environmental aesthetics and upkeep.
