The first day of school is time for excitement, lots of photos and maybe a few butterflies. KDWA’s Kelly Casey made a stop at the Hastings High School as the Class of 2019 arrived to begin their day with several groups welcoming them to their freshmen year. The Link Crew is a group of upperclassmen who guide the freshmen on their first day. Cameron and Taylor spelled out just how this welcoming committee can make the transition easier for these students.
The crew were dressed in t-shirts depicting a lifesaving ring, we asked them what it meant.
We also met Assistant Principal Trent Hansen at the doors. He supports the freshman-only first day.
