A large gathering took place at the Country Inn and Suites in Hastings on Veterans Day evening for the program provided by the VFW. After a well attended community remembrance at the Hastings Middle School the 7th and 8th grade bands performed their concert Thursday Night which, featured rousing march music and the traditional Armed Forces Theme Medley. As part of the program held at Vermillion’s St. John the Baptist School, area veterans were honored at an assembly put on by the students to show their respect and gratitude in honor of those that so faithfully served our country in military service.
