D.A.R.E. Program Finds Success at Malone Elementary

Each year, at Prescott Malone Elementary School, the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students do a DARE walk. DARE is a program that guides young students to resist drugs and violence. Before the DARE walk takes place, 4th and 5th graders help raise money for the school. Chris Frye, the Guidance Counselor at Malone Elementary, talks about the involvment in the program and what the school does with the money thats raised.

The students raised over 10,000 dollars. 5th graders contributed more than 6,000 dollars in their donations and the 4th graders contributed more than 4,000 dollars in their donations. Chris Frye says this is a record for the school.

The support from the families and the community have helped young students stay on the right path in the DARE program. Chris Frye, and the DARE program continue to strive on sending the message about resisting Drugs and Violence for the students at Malone Elementary.
