The City of St. Paul Park has chosen Inver Grove Heights police Sgt. Jessica Billmeyer as its new Chief of Police. Originally from neighboring Newport, Billmeyer was selected from among 20 other applicants by the city’s elected officials, staff and police officers. She will take over for Chief Mike Monahan who will step down at the end of January after 33 years on the force. Billmeyer has been an officer with the Inver Grove Heights police since 1998 and has been a sergeant since 2011. She says she is looking forward to working in her old stomping grounds and was attracted by the city of 5300 resident’s sense of community.
