The long season for showchoir competition is now over. Hastings Riverside Company traveled to Wheaton, Illinois this weekend and in an extrodinary field of talent, Hastings managed to show the judges that this five time Grand Champion winning choir would end this year on a high note. There were 12 choirs in their division with only the top 6 continuing on to the finals. It was finally time to hear the results and the announcer made this proclamation.
This meant that Hastings would perform 3rd in the finals, exactly halfway in the schedule, and so they did, at approximately 9 oclock. The judges returned with their final tallies and those in the massive Wheaton South gymnasium heard these words
The top choir at this event was Waubonsie Valley High School with runner up John Burroughs from California. Busses for Riverside Company will arrive back at the Hastings High School Parking lot on Sunday afternoon. Be sure to check the KDWA Facebook page for estimated time of arrival as we receive it. The choir will perform at two more venues, at a special Orchestra hall event on April 10th and at the Show Choir Finale on March 29th.
