Joas Hit and Run Update

There has been a late breaking development in a story KDWA has been following for the past 18 days. The Dakota County Sheriff Department released more information in the hit and run driver that severely injured Bryan Joas of Eagan. Late Thursday evening, they provided more information about an eye witness who provided another description of a vehicle described as a 2 door silver or light colored truck that was heard to have a loud muffler and no topper on the truck bed. This vehicle will have damage to the passenger side headlight, molding and bug deflector. We now know that pieces of this truck were left at the scene, part of the bug deflector or window vent visor. The bicycle that Joas was riding was sent to the Bureau of Criminal Aprehension to examine it for paint transfer or other identifying marks. The Dakota County Electronics Crime Task Force is also analyzing Bryan’s phone for additional evidence. The injured man is an employee of MHC Software of Burnsville and they have increased the reward amount to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible. The department is also urging the person driving the vehicle that hit Bryan Joas to contact Detective Ryan Fitzgerald by calling 651-438-4729. You can view the evidence collected at the scene on the kdwa.com website and facebook page.
