Group Forms To Prevent Rail Hub Plan

A group of St. Paul Park citizens have joined those from Grey Cloud Island in the formation of a nonprofit organization to prevent BNSF Railroad from paving acres recently purchased as additions to the vehicle transport storage hub located on the South side of Hiway 61 in St. Paul Park. Although the Railroad stated earlier this Spring that development has been delayed due to a downturn in the economy, residents have enacted an online petition and plan to provide a structured offensive to future plans they fear will severely impact the values of nearly 30 homes in the immediate vicinity. A non-profit group, Citizens to Preserve Residential Communities are represented by President Dave Jasper and Grey Cloud Town Board Supervisor Paul Schoenecker who is serving as a board liaison to the nonprofit. Jasper provided comments on the group’s goal.
