A resident of Hastings, 39 year old Vondale Kincaide, was taken into custody on Thursday afternoon, April 27th, in Austin, Minnesota. According to police at the scene, a 33 year old victim suffered injuries to his face and eyes after a confrontation with Kincaide, accused of smashing a window of the vehicle the man was sitting in. Kincaide allegedly used the but of a shotgun to shatter the window after using his truck to block the victim’s car from leaving a driveway. Kincaide’s vehicle was found near Brownsdale and taken into custody. Police also arrested Guadalupe Reyes, of Austin, who was in possession of the shotgun used in the incident and charged him with felony aiding and abetting an assault. Kincaide was charged with violent felon in possession of a firearm and felony 2nd degree assault with a dangerous weapon. Kincaide was arrested in 2015 in nearby Rochester on charges of home invasion, asault, robbery and burglary charges. Austin is located approximately 100 miles from Hastings.
