A recent In Depth conversation welcomed the artists who were chosen to cover the beige warming house used at the Levee Park skating rink, with a colored mural featuring leaves, branches and two golden birds. Artists Ivette Cabrera and Amir Shakir shared the planning that went into choosing what to feature on the unusual canvas.
Sarah Hodder, lead staff person for the city, also explains that the structure could be utilized in other ways than to warm skaters.
The story will air next week, but you can get a glimpse of the progress with the photo of the artists in action found on our website.
