Barge Takes Out Railroad Trestle

A railroad bridge over the Mississippi River near Kaposia Landing in South St. Paul was reportedly struck by a barge on Saturday. According to information provided to KDWA by a listener, the trestle bridge has been pushed off its foundation and is completely closed to rail traffic. Further information has been requested from Canadian Pacific Railways, who travels this stretch of railway. No updates yet on exact cause and how long repairs may take.
