The Prescott Finance Committee meeting of October 17th included extensive information about costs of needed maintenance in the Citys water supply, storm and sanitary sewer systems. Public Works Director Hank Zwart reported to the committee that, for 2018, $30,000 would be needed for well inspections, $30,000 would be needed for the Citys chlorine gas equipment, $195,000 for ultraviolet equipment at the waste water treatment plant, and a jumping jack plate compactor at $2,375. A majority of the funding for these projects is expected to come from the Citys replacement fund, and once a rate file review is completed, a increase in water rates may be proposed.
