The Hastings City Council deliberated a request for City Staff on Monday evening to set the preliminary property tax levy rate for 2020. Hastings Finance Manager Melanie Lammers presented the request to the Council.
Lammers also explained the breakdown of funding sources for the 2020 budget.
The City Council approved the preliminary rate, and set a Truth in Taxation Hearing for Monday, December 2nd, at City Hall. The final levy rate cannot exceed the 3.9%, but may be lowered.
