Hwy 95 Accident Injures 2 On Monday

A three-vehicle accident on Highway 95 in Denmark township has injured two people. According to information released by the MN State Patrol, a Mitsubishi, driven by 41-year-old Melinda Mae Stevenson, of Blaine, was southbound on Highway 95, near 70th Street, when the Mitsubishi crossed the center line. A northbound International truck driven by 53-year-old Hastings resident Steven Vincent Foote swerved to avoid the Mitsubishi, which sideswiped the rear of the truck, then collided head-on with a northbound Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 31-year-old Michael John Friedrich, also of Hastings. Stevenson and Friedrich were injured in the accident, and Stevenson’s injuries are said to be life-threatening. Stevenson was brought to Regions Hospital, and Friedrich to Woodwinds. The accident closed the section of highway 95 for several hours as the accident was cleared.
