Education Minnesota has announced that the nomination period for the 2020 Minnesota Teacher of the Year opened on Monday. According to a press release issued by Education Minnesota, everyone remembers a favorite teacher, someone who motivates and inspires students for a lifetime. Minnesotans have the opportunity again this fall to nominate that unique educator for Minnesota Teacher of the Year. Nominations can be submitted online through November 15th. The 2020 Teacher of the Year will be named at a ceremony May 3, 2020, at the Saint Paul RiverCentre. The Minnesota Teacher of the Year also becomes Minnesota’s candidate for National Teacher of the Year. This is the 56th annual contest. Anyone may nominate a teacher, and self-nominations are also accepted.
