With the increased weather-related school closures over the past couple of years, the state legislature has changed its language to include up to 5 eLearning days due to weather to count as instructional days for students. Hastings is taking steps to be ready for eLearning days should they be needed this winter. According to an email sent to district parents, lessons will be posted by 10 AM to either Seesaw, for grades preK to 4, or Schoology, for grades 5-12. Attendance will be marked based on student interaction with content, and Plans will be made in advance of weather-related closures for families who do not have access to internet or devices that can be used to complete assignments. Teachers will also work with students without access to technology to determine a manageable due date for assignments.
