The Prescott Public Works Committee recently deliberated a maintenance agreement that is being drafted between the City of Prescott and WisDOT for maintenance responsibilities of Highway 10 through town. City Administrator Jayne Brand updated the committee about meeting she had with with the Department of Transportation and Representative Petryk about the agreement. The state explained there should have been a maintenance agreement in place at the time the Highway reconstruction took place but since neither the city nor WisDOT can find an agreement, the State wants to put one in place now. The committee discussed how the city doesn’t have funding, equipment, or manpower to handle all of the projects the State is requiring the city to do, defining what is maintenance and what is reconstruction, and possible changing of language in the contract. The Committee tabled the agreement pending further deliberation.
