DEA Election Results

Dakota Electric Association announced on Friday that the results of the membership election have been confirmed. A press release states that this year three incumbents were re-elected and one new board member has been seated. Results show that for District 1, incumbent John DeYoe, of Lakeville, received 7,922 votes, and Bill Middlecamp, Apple Valley, received 7,964 votes for District 2. In District 3, incumbent Margaret D. Schreiner, of Eagan, received 6,341 votes, and James Wrobleski, Eagan, received 2,089 votes. In District 4, incumbent Paul Bakken, of Eagan, received 5,241 votes, compared to 3,223 votes for challenger Paul Trapp, of Hastings. Cooperative members also voted to approve a bylaw amendment to allow replacement ballots by a vote of 7,199 yes to 1,216 no. While the annual meeting was canceled due to COVID-19, the elections process continued as normal with voting taking place by mail and online.
