HFS Reports Giving Totals

On Tuesday, Hastings Family Service Associate Director Amy Sutton reported that $233,000 was raised for HFS during the campaign for FoodShare Month which was extended this year due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Despite a reduction in pounds of food and personal care items donated, at 14,485 lbs, there were 972 individual gifts this year which exceeds last year’s total. HFS acknowledged the 2 largest gifts, $10K from North American Banking, and $40K from the Doffing Trust, which were added to 18 $1K plus gifts to make up the total. Sutton noted that 954 gifts were under $1,000 and that accounts for community support that will help HFS fill needs yet to be realized this summer. Some key support events will not be held this year and HFS continues to depend on donations of all kinds to support the ongoing need.
