The City of Hastings has reported that the Hastings Police Department has been named as one of 596 grants to be awarded through the COPS Hiring Program. The grant provides $125,000 over 3 years for a Community Engagement Officer (CEO) position. This sworn officer will do community outreach, partnership building, and promote cross-connectivity between other city departments, government officials, business, residents, and community organizations.
