A Cannon Falls man stands accused of murder after Goodhue County Deputies were called to a rural residence to investigate a shooting. According to published information, the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office says 21-year-old Cole DeGroot was arrested on a 2nd-degree murder charge Thursday. He is suspected of shooting and killing his father, 55-year-old Terry DeGroot, following a disagreement around 5 PM last Thursday. The sheriff’s office says the shooting occurred at a site where the two were doing work for someone. The case remains under investigation, with the assistance of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
