CNC Offers Family Field Trips

The CNC Education team is excited to offer alternative school field trips this fall. The team realizes many schools will not be able to come to CNC for their usual visits this year, so they have chosen the most popular fall classes and are offering family field trips. Starting in September there will be an opportunity for families to take a field trip with a naturalist into the apple orchard to pick apples and sample some fresh pressed apple cider, catch and identify insects in the grassland, dip a net into the wetlands to catch macroinvertebrates, and learn about and explore nature in several other classes that complement classroom or distance learning. This is a chance for parents to get the hands-on field trip experience with their child. Sessions will be held on weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Reservations will be required and space is limited to maintain small groups and social distancing. More information will be coming soon. Contact Program Director Mayme Johnson at Mayme@CarpenterNatureCenter.org with any questions.
