Explosive Device Found at Prescott Post Office

On Sunday afternoon, the Prescott Police Department was called to the Prescott Post Office to investigate a suspicious object left at the Post Office. According to information provided by PRescott Police Cheif Eric Michaels, at about 9:55 AM, the object was discovered and called in. Initial investigation determined that because of the nature of the object, the immediate areawould need ot be evacuated, and backup was called in. At 1:20 PM, officers with the St. Paul Bomb Squad arrived on scene and determined the device was, in fact, an improvised explosive device. The object was rendered inoperative by the bomb squad, and retained for evidence. The investigation into this matter remains active. Stay tuned to KDWA Radio for updates on this incident.
