At its September 21 City Council meeting, the Hastings City Council set a 2021 proposed property tax levy of $15,312,300, which reflects a 3.54% increase over the 2020 levy. The Council also scheduled a truth in taxation hearing for December 7. According to the City Website, the proposed 2021 property tax levy will keep the tax rate flat at 57.391%, as the City presented a “hold the line” operating budget for 2021.
