Hastings Mayor Mary Fasbender has sent an open letter to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz regarding the recent OSHA inspection at The Busted Nut that resulted in fines of over $7,500. In the letter, the Mayor stated her support of local business, and reiterated that small business has been “severely impacted”, due to the COVID crisis. She also stated that she agrees with the Governor’s stated stance that compliance checks should have, in the Mayor’s words, a process that first seeks to educate business owners. The letter was dated September 18th.
