Carpenter St. Croix Valley Nature Center has named Mike Murphy as the Volunteer of the Year. Since he started volunteering in 2015, Murphy has logged over 750 hours of service, mostly in the Center’s apple orchard. According to the Center newsletter, Murphy has also taken over care and management of a garden at the Center, which receives a lot of compliments from visitors. Murphy is seen as a great asset to the band of volunteers at the Center, and staff are grateful for his can-do attitude.
