The Lake Isabel Park master planning was completed in late 2020, and in an effort to help fund the redevelopment of the park, staff have identified the MN DNR Outdoor Recreation Grant as a good opportunity for funding. The DNR ODR Grant is a 100% matching grant up to $200,000, and is highly competitive. Staff are working on the application and will submit a completed application by the March 31st deadline. Staff have also identified a Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources grant for Lake Rebecca Park. The LCCMR grant could provide significant funds to help enhance the natural resources, habitat, and recreational opportunities at Lake Rebecca Park. Requests to authorize Parks and Recreation Director Chris Jenkins to formally submit these Grant Applications have been brought to the City Council, and placed on the Consent Agenda for the March 15th City Council meeting.
